Hey i like trucks from all AMERICAN brands just certain ones. But my Daily Driver and my passion are with Ford.
I do like the OLD PowerWagons. I do like the 67-72 C10's. But over all of them i like All of the ford F series trucks, except 78-79 the grill just sucks compared to the 67-72 and the 73-77 grills.
But those chevy guys are wierd, hold on i can say it, trash.
DT 466man, the comment about girls in a skirt and cowboy boots is right on. there isn't much hotter then that. and as far as grilles go I think the grille on my 84 150 xlt is one of the worst pos plastic things ford made. can't wait till I get a nice custom one
So this kid at school is talking down on Fords and specifically the 300. said im a fool for running a 6 cylinder (already knew this kid was a degenerate from saying that).
well i suggested we have a pull of, bumper to bumper. both trucks are long bed, regular cabs
specs:
ME-1993 F-150 XLT 4x4 300/E4OD 3:55s with 33" tires
HIM-1990s Ram 1500 4x4 swapped in 360/unkown tranny with stock size tires
think i stand a chance? i know this is stupud but i may just go through with it.
I think you have a good chance.
Make sure you load up with as much weight as you can get by with.
Low 1 would be your best best either on dirt or asphalt.
Get drop on him at the start and drag him wherever you want.
DRAG HIM BACKWARDS!!! I have too many hooking storys to remember, but the 300 will hold its own, especially against a junk recycled dodge! He will end up busting his stock remanufactured tranny or something. I have a C-6, wich is no were near granny geared, and 3.08's (horrible), and I've drug everything from lifted blazers to landrovers!
You have the great advantage of low torque. that 360 probobly doesnt make peak torque until 3500+ rpms, which means his tires will be smokein like a freight train, which is very bad because no traction (no brainer). you make peak torque at 2,000 rpms, and at that rpm, your tires probobly wont be spinning, or at least very fast. just remember to put it in 4lo.
And when you drag him and the pulls over, back up a little, walk to his bumper, take the chain off, and be like "hey, bow ties and queer guys, who wants to hook to a ford", and if they dont tell them to put their money were thier mouth is or shut the *bad word* up. Just dont get drunk and hook a ext. cab long bed dually cummins with too many mods to list like I did...
well I have a story but it's not great or anything. I used it once to drag a cow out of a field, she probabally weighed 12-15 hundered pounds. We was going to use the skid loader but it wasn't plugged in that day and we couldn't get it going so I thought nothing of it and offered to use my truck, gee what was I thinking... she happened to be in the part of the field where we feed hay bales during the winter. If anybody knows anything about farming and cows then you know how it gets where you feed them. It hadn't rained in awhile and I thought it would be fine to go out there and do it. So I locked the hubs, put it in 4 lo and went on in then we got her hooked up and I went to take off and it wouldn't budge so I backed up and jerked it a couple times and finally got it to move. Then when I got moving I realized how sticky it was in there and I couldn't hardly get any traction at all. I had to keep giving it gas and letting off as it gained traction to keep it going. I lost traction two times where I had to back up and gun it to get it moving again. My friend was watching the gate and the rest of them was getting restless and was heading to make a break for it so I tried all I could to keep it moving and got through just in time. I must've dragged her 50+ yards through the muck. I had plenty of power but getting the traction was a job. I had my new tires too and right now I'm looking at lockers for it.
in school i had a 1981 f100 i6 friends gave me a hard time about it called the old girl junk girls didnt like it cause it wasnt a sports car and after a while i traded it in over the love of a girl and she later dumped me later in life i bought a 1994 f150 i6 -but it just wasnt the same so i sold it took me 13 years to find another ford this time a 1986 f250 with the 300 i6 -an old trucker owned her when she was new and it only had 47,00 mi on her when he said $1000 i almost cried she is like a new truck now when me and my wife take her for a spin i feel like im home and my wife says if she knew me in high school she would never have been ashamed to ride in the old ford trust me friend screw the guy with the dodge torque is were its at you'll pull him around the block and as for anyone else that talks trash about your ford truck -- friend come and go girls will leave you but the ford i6 she never seems to let you down and she'll probabley outlive us both !
