Question peter1979

Hello I have a 1992 ford f150 2wd that the speedometer doesn't work and the trany won't shift. I have to shift down to 1st and then go through gears. yes it is a automatic. Ive already changed the sensor on the rear end and it didn't help. Any ideas would be appreciated.Thank for the help

Hi Pete,
Welcome to the Best Ford forum there is.

Your problem sounds like a bad Speedo, it sends the speed data to the computer which controls the tranny. You can take the gauge panel apart and check for voltages and reseat connectors but if that doesn't take care of it, pull another speedo from a junkyard vehicle. Hopefully its just a loose connector.

This article in the tech section should help with disassembly.
