I have 99 F-150 5.4 and the lights on the door panel (below arm rest)are burn't out how do you replace those lights? Do you remove the lense or the door panel and if the door panel how do you remove it with out breaking some thing? Well I guess I have to remove drivers door panel now cause the light and harness fell inside door. Thanks for any help.
Remove the switch panel, (If you have power windows and locks). It just pulls up and off. Then tug on the edges of the door panel. It is held in with clips.
#1. Remove the trim pieces on each side above the door panel, they both will pull right off
#2. If you have power windows pull the swith panel up and out, unplugging is optional but helps
#3 With a very small pick or some other type of small tool remove the cap that hides the screw holding the handle on,unscrew the bolt and the handle will come right out.
#4 Grab the door panel at the bottom and gently lift straight up,(you may need to pull towards you while lifter if the panel has any clips)being careful if the light harness still clipped in,either reach around and undo the light or have a helper do it while you hold the panel.
Caution, the panels have no snap in clips. Do not pry out. After popping off the upper rear trim that goes up at the rear of the window, remove the retaining screw. Then after removing the door habdle trim and power switch panel as listed above and removing the screws, lift the panel straight up about an inch and it should come right off. Just be sure to put the lock **** back thru the panel hole when reinstalling the panel.
Well I got it done thank you very much. I never unplugged the switches cause there was no screws and I was to chicken to pry and break something. I LOVE this site. Most informative and relative quick responses. Thanks so much guys!
