Well it depends. What are you using this truck for? I see you live in AZ so I think it would be hot most of the time. If you have troubles with overheating maybe you should add an electric fan.
I've often thought that the electirc fan would be handy in places it gets really cold as well, so you don't have the fan blowing when it's fourty below.
Well according to a flex-a-lite rep. It will add about 15 to 23 hp. to your engine. Also if you are into mud boging, yor can turn the fans off so you do not ruin something in your engine compartment. There is a switch in the cab you can mount. I plan on adding the flex-a-lite #295 this weekend. I have already added a bigger alternater.
No it won't be worth it. You are better off with the factory clutch fan. The size of electric fan/s to keep up with a 460 truck especially in AZ would also mean you would have to upgrade your alternator. Even more money. Then you still will have a hard time cooling as well as the stock fan setup, and you won't notice the power really. The load on the alternator will drag the motor down. And besides its a 460 I don't think it minds spinning a fan a little bit.
I just rebuilt my 400 and went electric waterpump and fan set up I went with cool blue I think and the cfm movement is like three times a stock fan. Is small enough I can place two of then on if I wanted to. Not up and running yet so I get back when all said and done and give you the scoop.
