High Mileage?
Hi there,
I was reading another post and it got me to wondering how many other
F-100's are out there with high miles like mine. My wife's grandad bought the truck new in 1972, gave it to her brother with 11,000 miles on it, we bought it from him with 71,000 miles, it has since undergone a complete restoration, running a 406 from a 63 Mercury. It now has 834,226 miles.

My 72 has 270K on it - been reringed once and needs to be gone through again. Take care of them and they last forever.
I have a friend with a 1954 he built in the 60s with a 429 motor - now has over 800k and will still pull his camper over Donnor Pass in the fast lane. He is a mechanic and rebuilds the engine whenever he gets bored.

The 352 in the 65 I had was up to 293,000 with only one rebuild. It ran like a top and burned/leaked no oil when I traded it.
My current 72 has 163,000 but the 428 has only about 10K miles on it. No shakes or rattles either, good solid truck for another 150K.
