Question Oil Drain Plug?

I plan on doing my first oil change this weekend and this is probably a silly question and I should just give it a one grunt tighten but does anyone have the drain plug torque number (I don't want to strip it)? I looked in the tech section but can't find the plug just the filter cap.
Thanks in advance
Glen

Most people just wipe it clean and snug it up but if you insist on being precise the specification is:
  • 18 Lb/Ft
  • 25 Nm

By the way, I have no problem with people torquing an oil drain plug, I am just not used to any one asking! At least it means you care enough to want to avoid damaging the threads.

Thanks Ford_Doctor I know it's **** but I figured while I had the torque wrench out to do the filter cap why not do the plug the right way.
Thanks again
Glen

Make sure you torque the oil filter housing cap too. It's a plastic cap and you don't want to break it. You can torque it to 18 ft/lbs too.
