Put 89 Mustang 302 in 86 F150... Question

Ok I had a running 86 F150 with a 302 that I converted to carb ran fine, but had bottom end knock. I had a running wrecked 89 Mustang and pulled the HO motor out of it and stuck it in the truck. Switched the firing order around and figured all was perfect. Well, it will NOT idle, but if I keep it reved it stays running but seems like there is a mis (the motor shakes a little bit). Only real thing I changed between the two motors was installed long tube, headers, I'm using the HO firing order, went from v belt to serpentine. And thats it. I have an electric inline fuel pump pushing 5-8 PSI and a clear filter I can see the gas. I'm using a new edelbrock 1405 carb that I installed on the other motor. Any help apreciated!!!

If your using points check the gap, I did the EXACT same thing you did. Converted HO over to carb for my 86' 4x4. Buy new plug wires if you have not already.

I am using points and its a new distributer that ran in the other motor. Plug wires are also new. I would like some plug wires that fit the points cap, but have 90* bends at the header because right now the stock style wires with the straight boot rest on the header.

Yeah the 86 was efi, but the previous owner HACKED the wiring. I did figure out the problem. There was a washer on the carb stud between the manifold and carb causing a huge vac leak. Runs great now. So I'd be all set if I could just figure out how to hook up the lokar kickdown on my AOD.
