Timing gears

These are the exact ones I have in my truck. If you do a little searching around you can find some good prices. The ones with three keyways are supposed to work. That is what I have been told, but I am not sure. I find the ones in the links are pretty much goof proof for me though. Cloyes - Aftermarket Parts Lookup by Make-Model

screwed up

Well I screwed that up. Go to the link in my previous post ( Cloyes) and look up a timing set for a 1971 Ford Thunderbird V8/7.0 litre. You will get a Timing camshaft gear number S420...A Timing crankshaft gear number S493... A timing chain number C493..The Timing kit as a whole is number C3037.

Ok guys, I've been following this post for a little while now & I have a question. I've noticed on here about switching to the PRE 72 timing chain set. My question is this, how much of a power & MPG gain am I going to see if I do this? I see on here that it will help you considerably but no one on here has said how much. My truck is a 85 F350 4 door dually with a non catalyst 460 that I use to haul my 24 foot enclosed car trailer with my race car. The best I have been able to get is 7 MPG when hauling the race car. All I use my truck for is to haul it & I'm trying to get better MPG . The only thing that I've done to my truck is put an Edelbrock 1406 Carburetor on it. It dies when I get to a hill & I haven't had it on a long enough trip to check the gas mileage (another words filled the tank up ) but it seems to get worse gas mileage since putting on the Edelbrock. My truck is basically bone stock except for a K&N filter. I have gotten 7 MPG with the stock Holley on it. I have a couple of mountains to go over to get to the track. Can you guys help me out with what mods I need to do to it to help the MPG when hauling & also is there something wrong with the Edelbrock that it dies when I hit a hill.

Ive got a 1406 carb on my 429 and it was crapping out while pulling a trailer. Turns out the fuel filter was plugged. Might wanna check your float level too.

I'll check that, Thank's. My fuel filter is new but I'll check the float level. What about the factory fuel pressure regulator that's in the line(I can't remember that factory name for it), could this be causing problem?
