a friend has asked me to replace a lower driver side ball joint
for him.can i do this without removing the knuckle?
if not then i will have to seperate a tie-rod end and probably trash
the boots on that and the upper ball joint.i could be wrong about
the year, this truck has control arms and torsion bars, not the I-beam
suspension.it still drives good, but i squeaks loudly if you rock the
truck up and down.i laid under the truck while he rocked it and the
noise comes from the ball joint, which has no zerk.

If it's anything like my wifes' 92 explorer 4X4 I did have to pull the knuckle off to get to the lower balljoint. The balljoint had to pushed up out of the knuckle. It was alot of work but it was worth the effort. I have a 100Lb. vise and it was still hard to push the balljoint out of the knuckle and I had the adapters also.
