hot floor

the passeger floor board gets hot the wifes feet get uncomfortable on a long drive . i have a banks power elbow and 4in with no cat or muffler. the truck is 2001 7.3 psd 6 spd crew cab.

You'll have to figure out some heat shielding for the downpipe. It's so close to the floor that it's heating it up. Something as simple as a sheet of roof flashing between the DP and the floor should suffice. What I would do is attach it to the downpipe itself with clamps on either end and maybe in the middle with one through some holes. Make it as wide as you can so it will dissipate as much heat as possible before transferring it on to the floorboard. It will be a PITA but that is what it will take to cool your wife's feet.

Good idea Kiwk, The other thing I was thinking he can do is to apply some automotive insulation under the carpet.

I would think some exhaust wrap like you use on headers for a gas burner would work.It would be easier to install too.

Banks sells a heat sheld it is very flexable and moldable.
