'03 Vibration after Rear End Work
So after waiitng for several days to get the work complete I pick it up. Whine is gone and ABS light off. But now I have a dull vibration at starting around 65 mph that was not there before the gear replacement. I take it back and long story short they begin to repalce parts chasing down the vibe. New universals and drive shaft and dull vibration is still there.
O.K. dealership and Ford say replace the whole rear-end assembly. Three weeks later when the new rear arrives and an appointment become available, I take the truck back in. get the call, all done. Pick her up and road test shows the dull vibe is still there. Tech and Service advisor scratching their heads (me too, not to mention running out of patience). The dealership has been good so far and even agreed to picking up the tab for a rental at this point.
I mentioned looking forward of the driveshaft to the tech as just about everything else has been replaced. They mentionmed wheel bearings and the service advisor questioned the tech on balance and alignment of the drive systems that were disassembled. Anyone got some insight? Please note that this problem was not there prior to the rear-end work. Could they have put 3.55 rear in it versus the 3.73?
Thanks in advance for the input.
Mike
