ok im building a woods monster i have a 77 f-250 2wheel drive with a 460 i also have 2 frames one is a 79 and one is ealrly 70's i really dont know specific year its has a dana 44 high pinion and 60 rear the 79 frame is in way better shape so i want to use that one.
Question 1. will the axles bolt up to the 79 frame?
Question 2. can i use the 460 motor mounts in the 2 wheel drive for the 4 wheel drive or will i have to get diffrent motor mounts?
Question 3. will all the body bolt on to the 79 frame?
Question 4. what is the biggest lift you can get for these years?
Any help would be appreciated starting it this weekend thanks guys!!!
1 axles should fit fine, you might have to move shock and spring mounts IF frame width is diff., but that would be it.
2 Just take the MM off and put them on the 4x4.
3 The body mounts might match up like Mil1ion said.
4 The highest comp. made lift is 9" for a F-150 and I think 4" for a F-250.
Like Mil1ion said 6" would be highest with out lengthening driveshafts, but if your shaft would be to short and longer yoke would fix that.
I know it was there from the start of 73-79 for sure.
I'm not to familiar with the 72 and earlyer models, but it wouldn't suprise me if they were highpinions then too.
im really hoping i dont have to move the shock and spring mounts i dont really see why they would change them either but anyways guys thanks for your help
