Starting Problem!
My 1975 F-150 won't start now after I drive it. I looked under the hood and noticed that the positive battery cable was all black and so was the battery post so I cleaned them and it started. So today during lunch break I went to start it and it wouldn't start. The pos battery cable was black again. Does anybody know what could be causing this. Best Regards, Braxton

What do you mean by black? Is the battery shorting out against the hood? Is the black from arcing, little shiny melted spots with black soot all around? Is the wire black and melted looking?
Does the engine fail to crank? Is the battery dead? Do the lights work or are they dim?
Describe in detail please.
