Steering box

I just bought a 1978 F-350 that has a worn out steering box. I have one from a 1979 F-150, are they the same? Ant help would be appreciated. Drill

I use the parts finder on www.advanceautoparts.com to cross reference stuff like that. You just enter what kind of vehicle you have, get the number, and then check the other vehicle part and see if it matches. I looked your's up quick and according to their site if they are both 2 wheel drives with power steering and not a supercab the box will go from one to the other. You may want to double check, just go to their site and click on the "Shop Online" link. You'll get a better answer for sure knowing all the particulars of your trucks.
