While talking with the mechanic that was replacing my torque converter (ouch!), I was discussing the looseness in the drivetrain of my '98 B4000 4X4 and he said that (of course) the slip yoke was a major contributor but, that the stock rear shocks were known to allow the rear axle to shift a bit if worn and a good replacement would help take some of the looseness out. He drove a Ranger and didn't try to sell me the shocks so, I put some credence into what he was saying.
I've got about 66K on this truck, the PO put 45K on it and had a top of some kind on the bed so, I was thinking of replacing the rear shocks to see if that would help any.
Any recommendations of a good replacement shock for me? I don't do any major heavy hauling...maybe a 350lb motorcycle on a rare occasion.
I was going to try a search on here but, something has happened to either this forum or my browser and I can't get the search window to appear.
I put some RANCHO shocks on the back of my ranger, and I can tell a huge difference. They even cut some of the tire spin I used to get when accelerating from a stop in the rain.
