Welcome to FTE. There is a lot of posts in here on suspensions. Most of them are where guys want to lower the suspension, not raise it. I don't know what was done to your truck to make it lower. They may have rearced the springs, or even removed a leaf or two. Raising would be the opposite procedure of lowering. You can add leaf springs to your existing springs, shackles, air shocks or even put lowering blocks in which would lift the truck ( I'm assuming the axles are under the leaf springs). It's hard to say what you can do without looking at what you got and what was already done. You may be able to fit a taller tire in it, making it look higher and still filling in the wheel wells. There's a few guys in here with 59 and 60's that could help you out further. Good luck.

Chances are you could raise your truck easily with some work to the springs. They may have sagged over time, maybe some one has already removed a leaf or two to drop it down.
Raising the truck is easy.................we all want to go lower

I have both a 59 and a 60 front suspension apart right now - if you will post some pictures of yours I can identify what is not stock about them.

What will determine how big you can go in tires is the offset on your wheels - or better, how tight you want to be able to turn. The distance from the tire to the frame will set this. I have seen 31s installed on near stock rims with no problems.

While it is true that the current fad for the darksiders is to lower their trucks, many of us want to remain near stock, or even higher. I am stock and find a 29 inch tire looks good under the front.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have a good project on your hands. As soon as you get a chance, read the sticky threads at the top of the forum and then set up your gallery so we can see pictures of what you are working on. We all love to see pictures of these old trucks.

National Parts Depot has them in their catalog for $335. each, which seems high to me. I rebuilt my own, and there is always a spring shop in the larger towns that can re-arch yours.

You need to visit the suppliers listed on this website and order catalogs. Another good catalog is the obsolete ford parts, now called Classic auto parts (www.classicautoparts.com) and there is always sacromento ford. Catalogs are free and a great help.

As ***** mentioned, there are local spring shops in most larger cities. One of the local places here in Dayton, Ohio (not that big a city) will make a complete set for you - especially if you have one to use as a pattern. It's not $5 per spring pack, but it's not outrageous either. They have the spring material in stock and all the machinery to cut, grind, drill, and roll it as necessary.

Not sure what you had - likely 670X15 or 16 truck tires stock. Like I said, I run 29 inch and think it looks good. I know someone who is runnin 31s with no problems.

The standard rims for an F-100 were 15's & took 6.70's to 7.10's.
Though 16's could be S.O.'d & they took 6.00's to 7.00's.
