its very unlikely that both door locks went at the same time. check the wiring that goes from the a pillar to the door, sometimes after a while the wires can break. also remove the door panel and check to see if the door lock motors are clicking or getting power, if you don't know how to do this then u should have them looked at by someone that does.check the simple things like fuses and the lock out switch first.
The things tryn to work so I think they get electricity. They just do not have enough to unl;ock the doors nor will they lock them. When I push the button they move but just a little. Could be they need lube?
Pull the door panels off and see what happens. I have seen a few of these trucks need the plastic (in the door panel where the lock "****" sticks through the back of the panel) trimmed up. All you need to do is trim up inside the door panel to allow the **** more clearnance.
I changed both sides on my 99. the drivers side quit working, but still made a sound ,the passenger side worked for a few times then it just didn't have enough power to lock, but still made a noise.
