Well yesturday, was 4mo and 1500miles since i changed the oil, so i went ahead and got a new FL1A and 6qts of Rotella and some grease. Well the oil change went as it should of.
i went to grease the chassie. 6K since i bought the truck thought it was time. Greased the tie rods, and pitman arm.
Went to the driveshaft, who ever put these HD u joints in must of been an idiot or i'm missing something. But there was no way i could get my grease gun onto those fittings. All the big trucks class 7 and 8 had very accessable grease fititngs on the Ujoints. But mine still had of grease so untill i figure out how to grease those suckers, i don't know.
I got a set of spicer joints for my truck, and the fittings can be hard to get to depending on the position of the driveshaft. Sometimes I have to spin the wheels around to get to the fitting.
Probably not your problem, though. You've posted enough to be smarter than that.
i put new u-joints on my rear driveshaft and you can't get to some of mine either it's realy wierd and spinning it doesn't fix the problem of not being able to get the gun on them.
It had me stumped to say the least. O well mine only have 3k or so on them so i said who cares it's getting sold . Anyways make sure you post back what you figure out i/they did wrong because, i'd be curious to know.
I can't get to the fittings on my truck without the driveshaft in just the right place. It also isn't uncommon for a particular brand of u-joint to have a specific direction of installation. If they get put in backwards you are SOL.
Probally my case, when i'll try to get some pics, i don't have hardly any light under the truck since it's stormy and it's in the garage, so i'll try to get some pics.
