Dash pad

Just saw a pic of a 67 F100 and it had a metal dash. If I remove my pad will I have a metal dash under my 68 that I could paint or is it funkyand full of holes?

there are a few holes but it should look like new paint under there. if you do a search you should be able to find a few threads that link to pics of them.

I think they look pretty good even with the holes. Here's a photo of mine before I put on the pad.

The first time I seen a bare dash I thought it looked really cool. The small holes are a pain but not as bad as my old dash pad.

The only other idea is a dash cover as a new dash pad is abit pricey.

I've been thinking about taking off my dashpad but I havent really looked into it yet. Is it a real pain to take off the old pad?

Nohaj1, Not too bad if the glove compartment, ash tray and instrument panel are removed. Then go underneath and remove a dozen or so of the small nuts (about 3/8 inch ones) that hold the pad on. Doesn`t really take all that long around an hour.
