transfer case and front axle highboy
Hi Everyone, I purchased a 72 F250 4x4 from California, last winter and am contemplating the rebuild/modify. I have a 78 F250 with a Dana 60 front end. The 78 is heavily rotted. The plan was to put the Dana 60 in the 72 with the PS and PB. The question is, do I use the original divorced transfer case or the case out of the 78? What type are the two transfer cases? What are the pros and cons of this type of swap? Has anyone done this and can shed some light on it?

Your ariginal t-case will work with the swap. You will have to relocate the spring perches and the power steering swap will be the hardest to do. I know this because I am still trying to get mine done. If your 78 frame is in good shape it may be easier to swap the 72 body to that frame.
