Hello, i was hoping somebody here has the knowledge i am looking for. In a nut sheel what is the difference between a frame from a 90 or 91 with 117 wb and one from 92? Visually i see what appears to be the lack of the crumple ends at the bumper but could i use my cab front end and box a 91 frame? My precious 92 flareside died in its current form a few weeks back. most people would give up on it but hey i have a few spare hours this winter and want to rebuild her. the cab and box survived but the frame got really tweaked just in front of the cab so it appears there is about a 12" belly in the truck. any insight or tips would be appreciated.
Anybody? Has anybody put a 92 cab and bed on a 91 chassis? any insight would be appreciated. Thanks tim ps don't let the vw in my nick fool ya my iris 92 was and still is my favorite vehicle!!
1991_f250 were you able to adapt and get them on succesfully? That was where i noticed the difference visually is the front end of frame at bumper mounts on 92 appear corrugated of sorts where as the 91 seems to be smooth but with a different mount. Also mine does have the quadrashock as well has anybody apated that to an earlier truck like a 91?thanks i appreciate all the insight.
I had to cut the ends off the frame off and make brackets in order to mount the bumper I think the 92 and up frames have boxed ends and crumple zones and the 91 and down dont.
Its possible, you just have to be creative with your approach. To be honest I do not completely remember how we did it. We just cut and welded whatever was needed to make er fit real well. It's possible, just don't think to hard or you'll never get anywhere on it!
