rear end moved. Axle

This is how it first happen. I was goin around a turn and i was not in drive and i gave it gas and then i slaped it into drive... dident mean to but it happen..

Then my steering was all messed up... and i new something was wrong so i
pulled over and i looked and you could see the blocks were not flush with
the axle.. So i lifted the truck and losend up the u-bolts wich did not seem to
be tight AT ALL.. n let things hang then i tightend it back up wich then my
steering was back to normal.

But today at a light i just got on it like i normaly do n the axle moved.. Like
my steering was out of alightment big time.. It wouldent pull one way but the
steering wheel was not in its normal spot.

I tightend the u-bolts up to 130 lb's when i did the tighting.. Im told even if
the u-bolts are lose the axle souldent move unless the center bolt broke..

Is the center bolt the only thing that would make this happen if it was
broken ?

If the U-bolts were already loose, it could have been enough of a shock on the pin to shear it off. Loosen the U-bolts and check the pins (and the notch/hole for them to make sure it hasn't egged out to bad), it they are fine, make sure they go into their 'notch'/hole when you tighten them back up, and this time apply some lock tight on the threads.

Sorry Gents,

We're talking about a pin -where- ? attached to the axle to center it in the blocks?
