i have a 2001 f250 4x4, i have the stock rims, can anyone tell me if 305/70/16 will fit or are they to wide for the stock wheel? also does anyone know anything about the nitto terra grapplers? they are the only all terrain i have found so far in that size for a 16 inch rim that still has a e load rating. any info would be great, thanks.
The 305's will fit on a stock wheel - but the minimum listed wheel width for a 305 is an 8" wide wheel. I have read lots of posts of guys running them on the stock 7" wide wheels. Another thing is you may have some minor rubbing on the bumper/fenderwells too. My 305's (on 16x8's) rub on a twist and hard turn - even with a 2 1/2" lift on the front end. I know everyone's truck is different it seems as to what will fit without rubbing - but that is my experience with my rig. Good luck!
if the min is 8" and the stock is 7", has there been any problems with the tires under a load? i have a 5th wheel and just dont want to spend the money on tires if there is a pottential problem.

I don't think you will have any issues with the 5er. I run 305-70-16's that are "D" rated and pull a 14,000# 5er with a 2400# bed weight. I have pulled it thousands of miles without any issues and they are 80% wore out now. I will be changing mine in the next few weeks and am going to go back with the same tires I am currently running (Goodyear).
