Power steering problem
Power steering problem
I have a 1992 F-250 Ext cab 4X4 with a 460 V-8 that has a power steering problem. My pump started to whine about a month ago so I figured it was do to go out anytime soon but to days ago it started doing something funny. It works fine when I turn to the left but when I turn to the right it acts like I have manual steering. I can turn it real easy to the left but I need both hands and a lot of force to turn right. I figured the pump went so I replaced it yesterday but that did not solve it. I flushed the steering fluid and bled the lines but she still won't turn easy to the right. Does anyone know what this problem could be? I'm not looking forward to taking it in to a dealership to have them diagnose it and would rather fix it my self. I need to know what I should start looking for, I think it could be an O-ring in the steering box but not sure, any insight? If you have any suggestions email me back at cj-5@qwest.net
Thanks, Dave C
