thats what i was thinking,, that it was droping ground ,, but i pig tailed a whire and vice griped it to the housing ... then i took the brown whire witch i belive to be ground and ground that to the frame ... i belive it to be a good ground but cant say 100 %,, it was gettin late and fustration level was runing high at that point lol ,,,,

your turn signal switch in the steering column failed.
instead of just shutting one brake light off (the one on the side thats blinking)when a blinker is on, its killing both.
there is no ground wire
brown is power to the tail lights
green is power to your right brake/blinker light
yellow is power to your left brake/blinker light
black with a red stripe is power to your backup lights

Try running a ground between your bed and the frame, not uncommon for old trucks to loose this ground.
Usually when something works, but stops or gets weak when something else is turned on it's because there's not enough ground to power more than the one item.
