UPDATE ON 9" INSTALL

Well I Got The Ford 9' Under The Truck.still Need To Set Up Shocks And Get My U-bolts .but It Is In,brake Lines Installed And Drive Shaft In.it Does Just Bolt Right In.the Only Mod. I Have To Do Is Shock Mounts.i'll Post Pics As Soon As I Can.anyone Need A Original Rearend Out Of A 48 F1?seemed To Be Ok Just Wanted Higher Gears.thanks For All The Info.

That sounds too easy. The biggest problem I had with my 9" install was six trips to the driveshaft place until they got the length right and balanced it right. You don't mention the pinion angle. For some reason mine was pointing up towards the box initially.

9" install

Get the "U" bolts and lower shock mounts from a F-2. Then you can bolt up the stock shocks.

My Pinion Angle Seems Ok.drive Shaft Will Work Ok To.if I Shove It All The Way In It Comes Back Out About 2".should Work Fine.did You Use A Truck Rearend?mine Came Out Of A 72 4x4.

When you got the 9" did you get the top plates for the u-bolts or use something else. I'am looking for a 9"-3:50 myself, haven't found any in Michigan. The 4:27 i have just can't give me the highway crusing speed with lower RPMs.

I Got The Top Plate.the Rearend Out Of The 72 Worked Fine.only Mod I Have To Make Is Shock Mounts.pinion Angle ,drive Shaft,ect.was Right.hope This Helps.
