'87' 460efi hard cold start Help?

'87' 460efi hard cold start Help?
I haven't found this issue posted yet,I hope it's not a repeat,if so maybe someone can dirrect me to the thread.
I have an 87 f350 crew duely with 460efi.
I first got on here looking for the issues with converting to carb intake.
Then I figured I'd better try to see if someone could help me track down the my cold start problem first.
When cold, I can grind the battery down without a start, hardly a pop. But if I advance the timing significantly it will start then I retun the timing back to normal range. It will usually start fine after warm up.
I was told there is a cold start circut but I haven't figured that out yet.
Any ideas where I should begin?? Thanks
