Man, you guys have me scared to death. I just traded my 99 7.3PSD for a new 06 cc lariat PSD. My 99 0nly had 90,000 miles and was a true joy to own. Never been back to the dealer for anything, I do my own service. The 99 towed my 30ft 5th wheel back and forth to the west coast from Ohio numerous times. Now after reading all the post on the 6.0 I am wondering if I made a big Mistake. I sure hope not as I am very fond of the PSD. I looked on the forum for Chevy/GMC and they seem to be having a lot of problems also. It leads me to wonder if the only people responding to the forums are the ones having problems. I would like to see more good news from members (if there is any and I'm sure there is).
My 04' runs great too. Never been back to the dealer. My own service too. (19,000 miles so far.)
The very vocal are those that have had issues. And this forum can't possibly entertain all the people that are quite happy with their 6.0's. Often it's the local dealer that's not treating the customer well.
Drive your 6.0 SuperDuty PSD. But just as you would with any vehicle, monitor it, perform preventative maintenance, and promptly repair anything that ails it.
No need to be nervous.
My 05 purrs like a kitten. I've only had one problem but it was not the fault of ford. Dealer took care of me. This truck runs circles around my old 97 7.3 psd. I don't look back at all and wonder if I made a mistake buying the 6.0 psd. I just continue to enjoy the ride.
Thanks, guys. I really do have confidiance in my new truck, guess i just needed a little reassurance. Have to take it to get the 5th wheel hitch reinstlled and then I can get towing.
Georges, You'll be fine. You made a great choice. I have an 04 PSD and she runs fine. My father-in-law swapped his 7.3 Excursion for one of those Isuzu powered bow-tie wanne be a truck and he totally regrets the move. He thought he was one-upping me but the Duramax can't hang.
I tried to tell him but you know how father in-laws are with son in-laws.... Hee Hee Hee

Just bought an 06 6.0 myself and absolutely love it. Just like you, I was a little discouraged at first (being my first Diesel) but found tons of positive stuff. I'm not concerned, and being that I'm a true ford Fan, I'll buy another Ford when this one dies or my needs change. This is the 8th new ford I've owned since '93 and can't complain about any of them. They were only replaced because my needs changed; and I like that new car smell.... My 2 cents.....
I sold my '99 7.3 a couple months ago and bought a '05 6.0. Haven't towed anything yet. The only problem I have had so far is coming down with CGS (can't go slow).
