driveshft phasing
i have 79 f150 with the two piece drive shaft in rear slip joint loks like it is one spline off from bieng in straight line with yoke on front pice of shaft . so my question is this should it be straight in line or rotated 90 degress from the front yoke. i hope my wording is not confusing.

It's often impossible to tell if the driveshaft sections have been phased properly if it appears they have been removed in the past. But most manuals say that the two outer sections of the yokes immediately beyond both sides of the center bearing support must be in phase (lined up together). If it appears visually to be a spline off, it ain't right! Line it up, and if it viabrates, move the rear yoke 180 degrees and try again. Anyway, that's what I'd do. Polkat
