Hi All--
Love FTE--y'all have been very helpful to a newbie. Bought my '06 F250 10 days ago--absolutely love it--with one exception. The "premium" 6 disc stereo head unit and speakers have gotta go. Problem is--no retailers (ie Crutchfield) have any specs yet on what fits the '06. I'm assuming there were no changes in the dash or doors from '05 to '06--and there's a great assortment of stuff for the '05's--but I'm hoping someone here will have more than an assumption about the interior dimensions. Any help would be much appreciated--my soldering gun and crimping tool are ready to go!
I Just purchaced on 05 F250, I agree, the Factory 6 Disc changer is out. How do I remove the Radio, without damaging the dash? Is the black plastic trim clipped on? Does just the area around the radio come off, or does the whole face have to be removed?
Check out the V10 Forum. BullFrog has a good thread going on stereo upgrades for the new SDs. I also agree the 6 CD stereo is not a very good sounding system.
Thanks Guys! Appreciate the input. I'm a big fan of Sirius--so I'm going with a new Kenwood head unit w/Sirius & cd--and the Infinity Kappa's in the doors and behind the rear seats(what a great place to put speakers, right? Thanks Ford!) No subwoofer at this point...I need all the room behind the seats and in the center console for junk. I'll letcha know how it works out. Thanks again
Va Dean, I actually have the kenwood plug and play and put it in the little glove box below the upfitter switches and trailer controller. Just waiting for a pie adapter so I can tie into aux. port. Then I will upgrade speakers and AMPLIFY!!!!!!!!!!
