Fuel Pump Humming
My 87 F150 EFI 4.9 with C-6 started the old fuel pump humming on the back tank a couple weeks ago, and now after driving it about and hour and a half on the hwy with a full tank of gas it is quiet for a while then starts humming and it then it starts cutting out and will die. I switched to the front tank and it does fine quiet all the time. The next day I started it up cold and switched back to the back tank and it runs quiet and great around town, had plenty of fuel left in it, about half a tank. This tank and pump were replaced new about 2 years ago, could the pump be going bad. Any ideas out there. Thanks

This kind of sounds like a problem I was having (may still be). I have never know a fuel pump to show symptoms of going out. They just do it.
My thought is the fuel tank cap may not be venting adequately. Try running it with the cap off and see if it helps.
