There is one of the guys off of this forrum that lives about 20 minutes away. He has a 49, and I recently aquired a 55. We have been sharing local parts sources back and forth, and I have been over to his house a couple of times. I'm sure before long we will be getting together to put some team work on these two old trucks. I'm just curious if there are any others that frequent this board that live any where near Waco, Texas? If so, go ahead and speak up. Between me and this other fellow, we can probably hook you up with parts and some help when you need it. Neither him nor I have built a truck this old yet, and so far we just get together and look at the trucks with a confused expression and share ideas. We also discuss some of the great truck builders from here. Our hats are off to you Earl and Ax, as well as some of you others.
Doc
Hi Doc, I'm not anywhere near Texas or I'de join you in the confusion dept. (sometimes)
But I wanted to let you know that if you and your buddy would add a cooler full of "cold cans" to your tools in the garage, you would go from confused...to having lots of parts scattered around on the floor, like the rest of us.
Dont worry if you forget what you did and where things go the next morning. Just fill the coler back up and go the the garage, It will come back to you.
Enjoy the projects, thanks for the parts offer.

i am a 100 miles from lubbock. and i dont know of anyone here that has a truck that isn't rotting in the yard.
you hear me big rig guys. thats right i have seen so many big trucks out here i was thinking of doing one myself and they all are about as rust free as mine
Starfox is the closest to me AFAIK but he's still an hour away. I wish there were a few others close by to get together with once in a while. I have seen one slammed 56 F100 locallyon the highway, but that's about it.
