Sometime I go to the USA just to filled up on gas. It sure is alot cheaper over there then it is here. I live near the border so it really isn't much of a deal. The Customs officers laugh when I roll up and tell him I am going over to get gas. They have gotten used to it. Its sometimes over $1.10 a litre thats just not right, its equivalent to about $4.25 a US gallon.
The only way to make any difference is *to use less gas all the time*. If we don't buy gas on those days, we still have to buy it sometime.
We (the US) keep demanding and driving thirsty vehicles, and we drive everywhere, even if we can walk. Not pointing any fingers at anyone in this forum, myself included.
Mass transit is not available in a lot of rural areas, so we have to drive if it's too far to walk. We could have demanded and started driving fuel efficient vehicles years ago, but we didn't. We have ourselves to blame.
