Regearing

Well my rearend is growling really bad, and it is time to rebuild it. I figured this is the right time to regear it. I want to put 3.73s in, with a Traction lock dif. Is the tracloc a good dif. to go with if i am just going to be doing mild offroading and highway driving? I am going to keep the 31inch tires on it for a while. Will the 3.73s hurt my gas milage to much untill I get a lift and bigger tires on it? I am also going to do it myself. This is the first time that i have done this is there a good book, or video or something that i could get?

well what size tires are you planning on running in the future? this should dictate what gear ratio you go with so you dont have to do another gear swap down the road. Personally doing gears is not an easy task and requires special tools and experience but if you must contact randys ring/pinion i beleive he has videos on this sort of thing.
any good quality limited slip should work for ya.
