I received a letter from Ford to bring Explorer in so they could install a bottle of 5R55S/E & 5R44E to keep the transmission form having delayed/harsh reverse engagements. I took it and had it done, but it is doing it again. Has anybody had any experience with this? Any ideas to fix?
The only way to get rid of this nagging problem is to first have Solenoid Valve C in the transmission replaced and then have the transmission completely flushed. I bet there's also a computer reflash to improve the shift points. The problem is getting the dealer to cooperate and acknowledge that the delayed/harsh engagement is there so that they will repair it.
If the truck is under warrenty it should be covered. The additive is only
meant to prevent the problem it will not I repeat will not fix it if the problem
is already there. Nand12 is correct you have to replace the solenoid and
put the correct fluid in there. I you have any problems getting it fixed let
me know and i'll see if i can help.
