I just recently purchased a 1977 f150 custom, short wheel base truck, with a 351m, 4 speed tranny on the floor, and it is currently sitting on 33 in tires but it still has stock suspension and no body lift. I am wanting to put 35's but am unsure of how high i need to lift it. also does any one know where i can find a new bed for it as well.
I fit 35's with a 2" lift on my 77 F150 4x4, but chances are you will need a 4" kit. That bed is going to be tough to find. Keep searching the newspaper, junkyards, and try ebay.
i have 6" of lift of my 79 f150 with 35"s, thats more than enough lift but the tires still come close to rubbing my front bumper when turning. there are pics in my gallery.
Does anybody have a suggestion of where i can get items? i am looking at restoring my truck and it needs a lot of small items that are difficult to find.
Actually, I don't care if someone buys from them or not. Just need to make it clear they are not a site sponsor because there appears to be some users who think they are. The extent of their involvement on FTE was they sponsored a $20 gift certificate to the FTE National Rally.
Dennis Carpenter sells good quailty parts. They make some of there parts with the original tooling that made the OEM parts.
They are not a sponsor and not cheap but you get what you pay for.
I got a bed and doors from www.rustfreeparts.com The bed was 1200.00 but it was rust free and had no damage except dime size dings. Dennis Carpenter sell awsome parts, ive bought alot from them. www.dennis-carpenter.com
