solid axel swap

i am thinking about swaping out for a solid axel. is this an easy task or should i find a qualified person to do ( some mech experiance ). and what should i expect to pay? in california (sacramento area)

do a search on google for Bronco solid axle swap. you will find a forum that stricly talks about this and can give you very accurate price brake downs and whats involved. i think having a shop do it would be very expensive so if you could do the work yourself it will save ya. but i dont know your level of skill.

yea this site is becoming more and more funny. i especially like when the reply to a thread with some sort of plug about the site and stuff. a good site shouldnt have to do that

Did'nt I see one of those Bronco places like Graveyard or Jeffs sell a complete solid axle kit for around $1500 or so??? I think it was a Dana44 came with all the mounting hardware???

the d44 doesnt come for that price. if you want that figure another 500-1000 bucks. someone on this site did the jbg kit because he felt wrecking yard parts were crap. by the time he was done he spent close to 4k on the front end alone. if he took our advice and used parts from a wrecking yard etc.. it would have been half that cost easy.

he must be on some crack pipe lol because it happens all the time to me . used to happen more when i put down fireguys website but I think they gave up when everyone started using it as well lol
