Starting problems
Sometimes I have trouble starting my 73 F-100, I'll have to give it gas to get it to start and then a little bit of black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Any ideas as to what the most probable cause is? Someone mentioned the starter solenoid. Thanks

Starting problems
If the starter turns the engine over oaky,the problem is NOT the starter solenoid.
The black smoke when it starts is from the excess fuel being pumped into the engine.
We need more information on this to give a in depth answer.
Describe situations of what it does & doesn't do.
