Question got a few questions

ok ive bought a 97 ford psd ext cab 5 spd, just put a K&N filter in it yesterday, that u can tell the difference already lol. going to get my stereo and bug shield on today if possible. but i got a noise its hard to explain it aint quiet a squeal but its coming from where the throwout bearing is, suppose to have a new clutch in it, but u can barely push the clutch in and the noise quits, could the shaft the throwout bearing be damaged and if so how much am i looking at for cost of one to replace it. going to get exhaust done hopefully soon with strait pipe then y-pipe 3 inch into two 6 inch tips for 400 dollars when i get that done ill post some pictures for all yall can see. another thing if i get the git kit from banks , the downpipe and all do i have to beat the floor board in some to get it in or not, some people say i do but RedStroker where did u get urs at and how much was it, just wondering. well guess thats it for now. other than getting the pump turned up a bit sometime lol. well thanks yall again Lance

As far as the throw out bearing shaft, are you talking out the input shaft to the tranny or the housing that the throw out assembly centers on? My first guess would be the bearing itself due to it squeal'n. It's hard to think that someone would do a clutch job and not replace the bearing, but cheaper things have been done. If it was the input shaft, I wouldn't think it would not have a squeal sound. It would most likely be a low frequency wobble vibration feel.

I had a 90 F250 with a 5 speed they were known for getting a bad front main bearings. Was told by friend in a Tranny shop it is none repairable you have to buy a remanufactured trans when it goes all the way out. It had 113000 on it when I bought it . He said drain the Tranny and use 20 wt motor oil instead of ATF. That quite it alot. I sold it at 150000 to a coworker who has over 200000 on it. He put some kind of friction modifier in it and synthetic 20wt and it's still going strong. Good Luck.

hey there, i got my downpipe from Dale at www.Tymarperformance.com just call the number on there and he will work with ya. VEY nice guy to talk to. i think i paid 140 to my door for a 3inch DP that bells out to 4'' at the end. to get it to fit you have to crimp the seam on teh firewall. you'll see what i'm talkin about as soon as you start the instal. use a sawzall and make 4 or 5 cuts through it and crimp it in till you can get the pipe in. i've heard of using 2x4's to crimp, crowbars, port-a-powers, schissor jacks....use what works for you. goo dluck

by the way thanks RedStroker, well i went and had exhaust done yesterday, left the cataylic converter on for now, cut the muffler out put 3" y-pipe then two 3" pipes into 2-6" echo tips coming out close to the bumper, didnt really get louder until ur about 3 grand on the tach, but its got a deeper tone to the exhaust though, i like it, lol. when i get a chance ill get pics for everyone to see too. definitely can tell a difference since i bought it 3 weeks ago, put the K&N Air Filter in it and now the exhaust, it will get up and go even faster and u can hear the turbo whistle more too, just one question i need more fuel lol as always, this pickup dont put any well alittle smoke out but not like most do, is there any way i can turn the pump up myself or not, the next thing ill do is the downpipe then all my chrome HD custom bumper with lots of lights and grill guard and new tires and either wheels or hubcaps like urs and then a better stereo system lol. does anyone know where i can get some of them stickers that say "Stroke This" or not i need 2 small ones and then one that will go on the tail gate lol. any help would be nice and thank yall guys got the pickup ive always wanted too thanks Lance

There is no oxygen sensor on a PSD. Your brother in law made a mistake somewhere. Gutting the cat will do nothing but LOWER your egt's. It will make more of a difference than the big air filter did.

yeah, theres no O2 sensor on the PSD's like quick said....just look at the exhaust pipe...no sensors anywhere. gettin rid of the cat will run better, cooler, and sound better. as for turning up the pump, do a serch on "shim fuel regulator" or "BB in fuel regulator" if you can't find anything, let us know....
