Exhaust systems?

I have a '05 F350 PS CC DRW auto and I am interested in upgrading my exhaust system for more torque and horsepower. Anyone have any experience with Gibson exhaust or any of the other major brands out there? Cat back or Turbo back? How much power and torque can be expected? Any negative issues? Any warranty issues with aftermarket exhaust systems?

Appreciate your input,

Thanks

I have had a gibson on my chevy gasser but not on my diesel, i liked it not as loud as other ones though. Yes it voids your exhaust warrenty but then again you get a life time warranty with your new pipes..as far as numbers go, just do a little search there has been multiple threads started on this subject. Good luck bud

Beetlejuiced,

Check out the MBRP systems we have, they are the turbo back system that keeps you cat stock and in place, or that you can get a cat test pipe for for off road and racing. If you keep the cat the Ford warranty problems pretty much dissappear!. The systems are available in aluminized, 409 and 304 stainless in singles and duals too! Call us if you have any questions we'll be glad to help you.

If I hadn't purchased my Bully Dog complete system, (from a relative with parts shop. He gave me a really good price.), I would have bought an MBRP system from one of the FTE forum supporters.

I can say, any Cat back system that's 4"... Well if you're deleting the muffler. They're all the same for horsepower and torque differences. -Given mandrel bends. As for fit and finish. I've heard nothing bad about any of the manufactures. They all "fit". I can also say that just a cat back system, straight pipe - no muffler, There is a difference from stock. Seat of the pants noticable!

Now, if you're changing the Down Tube you've got choices. 3.5" or 4". Some will argue the 3.5" is good enough to lower EGT's. Other's will tout that for full cooling abilities you've got to go 4". But many will agree the 4" is more difficult to install. I haven't installed my 4" DP yet. Maybe this week.

JMHO

Beet!! I installed a Gibson Extreme Dual unit 15K miles ago. Only sound I hear is on start up. I've been working a Power Plant and raced cars for 35 years so really what do I hear?? (God knows not my wife). I like them because thay exit both sides and I've had many positive comments about that..You look straight thru the muffer and it took a couple of hours to put on. You need something to cut the old one off I used a .032" 4" cutoff wheel in my angle grinder. The unit was all Stainless and 3 trips to the Bonneville Salt Flats have shown no change since new...Bought it from JCW and used a 20% off ticket I had, made it easy to take....Good Luck
