Changing shocks

2001 Edge 4x2

What do I need for a DIY change in shocks? Any special tools needed? Will I have to compress or expand the shock to pull the old one off and put the new one on? Any info will help a lot, thx guys.

They should be pretty easy, I'm not familar with the setup on the front end of an Edge but it should be just a few bolts, the new ones should come compressed.

Just unbolt the old one, drop it out the bottom.. install new one. You might have to compress the shock but it should be fairly easily compressable by hand.

No special tools required, as far as i know.

Thanks for the info guys. I got enough confidence to go about it myself now. The reason why I ask is I bought a set over the weekend to have installed while I was getting the oil changed at a very dependable local shop, and they said the shocks wouldn't fit. Wondering if Advance gave me the wrong part # or something.
