OD turning off automatically...

Hello Gentlemen,

My OD is turning off automatically while towing a 4200 lb trailer on flat to moderate hills. If I stop and put the truck in PARK, it will reset and stay on.

Why?

Thanks again.

why do you have it on while on hills? of course it will kick down into a lower gear.

Is this the dreaded wire-chafing that happens inside the column cover? It usually blows a fuse, but I guess it's possible to turn it on and off...

And moving the selector would move the wires again, turning OD back on...

But I'm just guessing.

These are small hills and few and far between. After I reset, the OFF light stays off (OD stays ON).
