Rear window deflector

While semi layed up with hand damage, I have done a few minor mods.

This is an Autoshade rear sun visor. Not very noticable on the truck, but it does keep a noticable amount of sun out. You can also leave the rear window open, and unless they want to do some noisy damage, they can't crawl in.

Cheap, easy mod, useful on reg cab trucks.

Hey Chris, I like the look of that! I may put one of those on mine. Hope your hand is all healed up nicely.

Interesting look Chris, just a few questions:

I have an SCAB, but like driving with the rear window open.
(Obviously a pre-planned evolution in a SCAB).

Does it affect the view in the rear view mirror?

Can you clean the rear windows underneath easily?
(BTW Recently cut my knuckle wiping the windows under my Auto-Ventshade in-channel window visors, very sharp lower edge. Took some of the cheap black plastic door edge guard strips available everywhere and put them on the lower knife edges - Viola! - Stronger, smooth, looks very sharp also!)

How does the install work?
Got a purchase link?

Enquiring minds...

Thanks, -Ron

Thanks, rougeriver, actually I am learning to touch type without using two of my fingers. Slow but it works. Stitches are out of finger, but I have to have two fingers taped together for another four or five weeks. Slow going.

Did about 6 mods since the chainsaw incident, but typing is slow frusterating work.

Your information on seats came in quite handy. The leather looks great in the truck, and feels so much better than that rough cloth. Nice to have seats that don't stain if you look at them funny.

What seats did you end up putting in your truck. I'd also like to change to leather. Sorry to hear about the hand.

Wink

Thanks much for the info, Chris.

Sounds like a relatively painless mod, kind of gives it a "backward ball-cap look".

Mods to seats since new;

Truck came with gray cloth manual seats. Drivers side lumbar.

Swapped in power pedestals both sides.

Added lumbar to passenger side.

Added SuperCrew console.

Added leather cover and pad to top of SuperCrew console.

The center console is just in there till the upholstery shop finishes my center seat. I am having that redone in black leather to match the seats.
Although it’s tempting to leave the console in anyway, as it is much more comfortable and has many times the storage of the center seat.

Recovered in new black leather.

Pending, hooking up the memory seat function and integrating it with new 'Deluxe Ford Alarm/keyless' I just installed.

In real life, the visor is not very noticable. Even the Ford guys I know didn't notice it till I pointed it out. I put it on to keep the interior cooler when the truck is parked, and it also makes it a tad darker driving on hot sunny days. Here in the desert that's a very good thing.

We had to take the picture at just the right angle to show it. All the other shots we took, you just plain couldn't see it. Remember, the rear window is already about black.

Unhappy Get Well Soon!

Chris, I'm sorry to hear about your hand, and hope it heals quickly, painlessly, and fully.

Do not spend any energy responding!

Best of luck,

I hear you. I separated two tendons in my forearm and have had my hand\wrist immobilized for 4 weeks now. I did manage to fix my leaking 3rd break light this weekend.
