Rims?

Hello all, I'm looking for rims for an 82 f150... What do i need to know about them before i buy? I dont have acess to the truck right now (at my grampas with a failed wheel cylinder)... but the old ones just arent doing it anymore (flaking off rust, even after I had them high speed balanced, it has a shimmy at undisclosed high rates of speed..)

I can get a new set from the junkyard, but in only marginally better condition... So what do i need to go with new ones?

Also the truck is gun metal grey, and has no chrome on it yet, so any suggestions on what rims would be great...

~Nate

I just went to a wrecker and picked up a set from an 91 f-150. THey're the stock steelies (grey) with the metal center hubs. A little sweat and polish and they look almost new.

Shimmy at your "undisclosed" speeds could be caused by many other things than just bad wheels.

I'd give some serious consideration to the rubber bushings throughout the front and rear suspension, as well as ball joints, tie-rod ends, etc.
