Power lock problem

Hey all, I have an 01 Ranger with power locks. The other day I noticed that the unlock function function on the driver's side does not work, but I can lock the doors from that switch. To be more clear, the doors lock and unlock just fine, just not with the driver's side button. I'm guessing that I should just replace the switch, but thought I would see what else it could be before I went and bought the switch. Thanks!

Try wiggling the wires around where they go throught the door jamb. Other than that, it probably is the switch.

Pull the switches out and check them with a continuity meter. I had mine out the other day to find the wire colors to connect my Bulldog autostarter and locker. The switches are simple common contact that makes contact with one wire for unlock and the other for lock. Real simple to check. Might even be able to take the switch apart and fix it. There is a big connector that connects to the door lock switch assembly that can be disconnected so that you can remove the switch. On my van the switch assy. just came out with a small screwdriver inserted under the assembly and it popped out.
