I've got a '69 F250 with a 460. I don't know the year on the engine, except that it's obviously not a '69. My passenger side exhaust manifold is not just cracked, but broken in several pieces. I bought 2 sets of exhaust manifolds on Ebay. One set is advertised as: for a 460, with proper clearance for the crossmember, parts numbers: D5TE9431-AB and D5TE-9430-CC , the other set is advertised as: for a 429 or 460, parts numbers: D5VE-9430-BA and D5VE-9431-AB. Both sets are ribbed instead of smooth (I heard they were less prone to cracking). I only paid $19.99 for the first set and $39.99 for the second so I'm not so concerned if they don't fit. I'll just resell them if I can't use them. Anyone know if either of these will fit? Is one set better than the other?
Cost. I need new exhaust on top of the manifold. It has duals, although they're a funky set-up. The PO hung a muffler under the driver's seat. I have the rear tank and want to keep it. I plan on routing two pipes off the manifolds to the outsides, and putting sidepipes on. Headers are way down the road after Petronix, Flamethrower, tires, taking out the windshield and putting it back in (this time with the chrome strips in place first), carb rebuild, etc.
