I had checked the serial #'s on my 302 and found 2 sets, I believe it was E0A4 (1980), and a D3.... (1973). I changed the rear main seala month ago nd it was a 1 piece instead of a 2 piece from the 70's. still not sure what year it is any help. Thanx Dan.

I think you're referring to CASTING numbers not serial numbers

What part/parts are you referring to?
Intake manifold,block,exhaust manifold,heads?

They all have a unique numbering system
The casting ID numbers are integrated
ie: E0AE-6510-A is a Block number
E0AE-9425-A is a manifold number

Where is this D4 number located an what other numbers/letters are with it?

The E0 there would indiacate that it was manu in 1990 (E= 1990s, 0 = 1990, first year of decade).

Thanxs for the info they are the casting #'s for the block. It still puzzles me about the one piece rear main seal, didn't start till '83 I believe. one more thing when I posted this it did not show up as a new post in fact it did not show up at all. I just did a search and found this post after I posted it again. Any reason it is not showing me new post? Thanx Dan
