I am working on building a 351C and am having a hard time figuring out if it is supposed to have a single piece fuel pump eccentric or the two piece. Would anybody out there have any info for me?
Thanks
Bill
I don't know about the Clevelands but on a 400, early years had one piece, and later years had two piece. they Changed because of a cost for production thing. It doesn't matter wich you use, they both work the same.
I need to add to my original post. The pin that drives the fuel pump eccentric on the cam that I have is not long enough to drive the eccentric. The two piece eccentric is not made by Ford anymore and I have not been able to find one in my area. Is there different cams for the earlier engines, what is the difference?
Thanks
Bill
Just a quick question does the second piece ecentric go on from the engine side or the front cover side? (or does it matter)if it goes between the cam gear and the inner ecentric it can't rotate. If it goes on the front, then it will rub on the front cover (I don't think that would cause a problem) Guese what way I put mine on. Thanx.
