Correct Fluid?
The vehicle is a 1999 Expedition 5.4 L 4x2. The Haynes repair manual
says to refill the auto tranny with MerconV, but the dip stick says to use
Mercon. I do not have the maintenance booklet to verify. Any help would be
appriciated.

mike12345, welcome aboard. Just for good measure, call a dealership and verify. I know you said you have the Haynes manual and not the regular book. A phone call won't hurt any to verify.
Or you could post this in the Expedition forum and ask the guys that have that vehicle what they use.
