Programmer and warranty?

If you left the programmer in and took the truck to a dealership for warranty work, can the dealership void the warranty?

I think that they could if they could prove that it was the programmer that caused the failure . case in point, The FORD dealership that I use had a 04 F150 that the motor was blownup in and the customer was running a Diablo Tuner on it and had left it in the console they were going to replace the motor under warranty but when they found the tuner they started checking and apparently he had been messing with some things that I guess he really didn't know about and deystroed the motor . that is the only downside to the Diablo that I can think of. From what I have read there are way to many user adjustable points in that thing that could let somebody who didn't know what they were doing mess the motor up.Feel free to correct me if I mistaken about the Diablo's ease of messing with stuff above and beyond the 3 tunes that come from the factory on the tuner
